There should be a atmospheric pressure sensor (baro) screwed in to the head on the intake side next to the inlet nozzle from the turbo. Check the wires to it (3 of them in a triangle plug if I remember correctly), and the sensor itself for corrosion . We had the same problem with a 2010 324D, which is a C7, but should be the same sensors.
