Several years ago, I watched a tiling contractor use smoke to find old tile lines. He lit a smoke bomb (the kind used to kill gophers) and put it in the outlet opening, he then put a blower into the opening to push the smoke up the tile. Within 5 minutes, smoke was coming out of the ground in a easy to follow path.
How to detect a tile line ?
