It is the third rail in politics here and if you want your political career to end, all you need to do is slightly suggest that it could possibly be studied. About 30 years ago, some fool or group of fools put it to a referendum that was voted down on about a 3:1 margin and the advocates were all but tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.
So . . . we have no sales tax on anything other than road fuel and kinda, sorta on lodging. Go into a store and buy something for 69 cents or two bucks and that's what it costs. Buy a Big Mac and fries with a large drink and what the menu says is what it costs.
