so hick if cattle are a business how would you come out without government help?? curious how you can chop $7 dollar corn and pencil feeding pairs… do tell


Exactly. I chopped 1/4 the pile I did last year. I have only shipped yearlings 3 times in my life this year was one of them. Sold some corn for $8 that I would have normally fed and the yearlings for darn near $1800 a head.

Find me a post where I say it’s a good idea to feed cows corn silage. Corn stocks are free other then the cost to remove them. Feed cornstalks and distillers.

10 lb of modified distillers can winter a cow. Distillers is around $110 currently. So 55 cents a day.

If you pay attention there are times you could buy cows and sell cows/feeders on the board of trade and lock in a profit.
