Little known secret. Studies have shown that there is as much hay fed in areas that have weeks longer growing season as areas farther north with shorter growing seasons. I think sometimes people put up hay for the fun of feeding it. The round baler was the worst invention ever devised for actual cow profitability. Grew up when about all the hay was either small bales or loose hay. Made you think long and hard about both putting it up as well as feeding it.
