Subject: RE: Jonesboro AR area

Qulin, MO
On my area of The Delta which is similar to the Jonesboro area it was a combination of too wet then too dry. Last fall was a wet harvest that left a lot or ruts in the rice fields. Then the early spring was wet and the fields never got dry enough to work the ruts down and level them out. When it did get dry enough, by the time the fields had been worked and leveled all the moisture was gone and the rains had stopped. We were lucky enough to get some timely small rains (and one untimely big one) that we got all the soybeans up the first or second time, but there were others around us that really struggled. Many had to irrigate them to get them out of the ground. Some just decided to leave some ground out and work on regrading it.
