Another trick I personally used with a field cultivator was to weld the original knife holes shut and drill a 1/8" hole in the tubes. These were on 18" spacing. By reducing the size of the holes, the knives created more back pressure which made the system more stable. My Dad was afraid they would plug up but they didn't since the pressure was actually higher.


Interesting note the application tubes. This is actually on an undercutter an that is basically how the tubes are manufactured. I didn't check the hole size for sure but best guess is around that 1/8 size. There would be 20 holes total on the output side so there should be some backpressure on the system. What your best guess Ted? Do you think the system would be stable with the one inch valve or is it still going to want to hunt. Local place also suggested the continental valve but they also sell continental parts. Like to use the valve I have around if possible. That at least costs the cost down some
