Equal angle hitch is to have the same angle on both knuckles and have the smoothest transfer of power. You will accelerate wear, vibration, and breakage by removing it. Best option is to keep it the way it was designed until you get a different mower with 2 pt. or hydraulic pto drive or self-propelled.... Dennis
