Liberty, MO | Why is it that hopper trailer owners let their trailer traps get into such a mess that they cant open them. I've seen traps open so hard that a 250 lb driver had trouble opening those traps with the 2 speed gear boxes in low gear. Worse thing i saw was the driver stripped the teeth off of the bottom of the hopper door on 1 side. Between crow bars, big hammers and lots of heated discussions the driver and another guy got the trap open enough to unload the trailer, and the elevator informed the driver to have it fixed next time or don't come back, probably 25 trucks lined up and i was #2 behind them.
