Subject: RE: Damaged tile picture

If it has been in that long and still looks great, then I would not worry. A lot of concrete tile has been in for 100 years and is still in great shape. It is not unusual for the concrete to have a crack on both sides but still hold its form. Even with the cracks, I expect many of them to last another 100 years. I doubt my grandkids will live long enough to know how long some of the good quality plastic tile will last. As far as how long the low quality plastic and low quality concrete- we already know the answer is, "not as long as they should have." A good quality concrete tile will hold it's shape even with cracks on both sides, but a low quality concrete tile will crumble and start to disintegrate even without cracks. If the plastic is still in great shape then it is likely not going to deteriorate much in the future since it is out of direct sunlight and has already shown it can hold up to the weight stress it has had to bear for 4 decades.
