western iowa,by Denison | 6-15 to 6-26-94 head of steers in a 36x112 building-4032 sq ft or 42 sq ft-industry says 40 sq on bedding barn-this is the tightest building I have-been having great results with 55-60 sq ft
5 bales in clean barn-6-15-(5000#)
10 days later -35,000#- cattle are eating 41# head a day of 50% moisture ration-free access to water
production of around 3,000# g day manure-
I started moving cattle at 10.40 and the cattle were back in the barn at 11.33-so around 53 minutes to clean and re bed the pen
the barn with( 60 sq feet) will not clean for another 11 days
(the second picture is a pen at 60sq ft-)
picture 10 show I take net wrap off-usually faster then a knife-as i just manuver the forks and cut 1/2 way down then flip the bale to get rest off
no breathing mold-and faster then getting off and on
I could go faster but was taking pictures-was kinda surprised how much manure was produced in 10 days
these steers were (hay weaned) from 1091 miles away at Montana-we have zero death loss on these-
