ecmn | Your corn will probably be fine if you get moisture soon. Number of rows is being determined at your current growth stage but it would have to be really dry to have a huge effect. Length of the ear will be determined later on, closer to tassel and finalized when it pollinates. We've had some pretty dry springs before and usually get good row counts. We've had trouble keeping them if it doesn't rain. You will see this toward pollination, the ear will "zipper" the length of the ear and not fill the kernels. I don't think you need to worry too much yet. | |
