North East Wimmera district of Victoria.

I laughed, then I cried!

Not long after we were married in 1970, city cousin's came for a visit.

3 kids totally removed from their granddad's farm. Came down to the cow shed to see the house cow hand milked.

Cow [normally very placid] uneasy about the strangers around, first mucked, then relieved herself of fluid [!], which I swept out then washed with a bucket of water before the milking got started.

Kids finally got enough courage to come in close, and see the milk frothing into the bucket between my knees.

"AAW!  you don't drink that do you ?"

Saw one of the 'young uns' at my sister's funeral in 2018.  He still remembered!

As others have said - very sad that the "country" is not in most young people today.
