Cedar Rapids, Iowa | Can this new stuff be dumped into an R12->R134a system?
134a can be used in a system designed for 1234yf
Ford switched the F150 over to 1234yf in the 2017 model year. I had had to replace the condenser in my 2017 F150 three years ago. I didn't have access to a 1234yf machine at the time so I put 134a in it. Been working great ever since. The connectors are different for the two refrigerants, so you would need to get adapters to connect your 134a hoses to a 1234yf system. Also, it's recommended to not mix the two refrigerants. |
