Subject: RE: Late pods on beans

It quit raining two weeks ago! But I’ve been watering a lot. And my population is really thin. I’ve had some really good beans in the past that didn’t quite mash together in the middles. They weren’t real tall. Planted kinda thin. And all year you could see the rows. I don’t know this for certain but the few spots where I did plant over 100k population like where the planter doubled up on an end pass, the soybeans are much bigger but not as many pods—anyway it looks to me like they are still competing for sunlight and so they continuously grow up and lean to the side. Thinner population tends to have more branching and way less lodging. But right now yes I see what you see and I have my concerns but the pod counts I’ve been doing have assuaged some of my fears
