Subject: Soybean cotyledons yellow

Southwestern Ontario
What causes the cotyledons to turn yellow at v1/v2? The field has a lighter green look to it right now but up close the leaves actually seem good with no sign of a particular deficiency. The only thing I notice are the cotyledons on some of the plants are really yellow almost like they're dying. On other plants they are perfectly green so I'm wondering what is going on. Pics for reference
