| Well speak of the devil. Started cutting the first field this year and 10 acres in had a catastrophic failure of my dc102 (nh 7230) cutter bar. Its still under warranty but isn't the first failure.
Basicly the tie bolt broke between first module and 2nd. All hell broke loose from there the blades from module 1 and 2 hit each other alot. Bent the blades up to 90 degree angle. Destroyed first module and spacer between the two along with driveshaft between those modules.
2nd time this has happend on this cutter. With less than 1500 acres on it. Case is staying they will step up to the plate and warranty the parts. But those tie bolts between modules are a pain in the rear. Then agian didn't take a close look at it but almost seems that tie bolt can't come out even if it broke in half due to not enough room on either side. So makes me wonder if it was ever installed after the last repair. Pretty sure I would have noticed a missing tie bolt. | |
