I guess I am a little biased since we are in the used combine parts business, but seems like a bunch of needless destruction to me.

Car demo derbies are usually a lot more entertaining because they are usually rusted or wrecked before getting turned into a derby rig, so not much has been lost.


My take on it though is most of these demo derby combines in the Lind video above are 6602 combines seem to be the combine of choice. Many sit at the demo grounds until next year and will run many years. The hillside combines of that era are used very little on the current farms because of age, lack of capacity, and safety due to the age of the leveling systems. It really isn't affecting the old combines that are still being used.
