Navy beans work, I am not a pea fan.
My recipe is quite guarded but here are some things to add, I use bushes baked beans for my base
Honey
Brown sugar
Hamburger
Bacon
Cut up old fashioned hotdogs
Onion
Garlic
Liquid smoke
Mustard
Ketchup
BBQ sauce
Smoked brisket
Pulled pork
Pretty much the kitchen sink.
Over time you will perfect it,
One hint, use very little mustard, it can over power
Liquid smoke is another one that can be too MUCH if you arent careful. |
