Subject: some observations going to the International Peace Garden

Manitoba
We took Manitoba highway #10 from Dauphin to the Peace Garden today. A lot of farmers were seeding all the way south of the Riding Mountain National Park to the U.S. A lot of fields were still not seeded and a lot of those done had wet patches left out. West of Dauphin to Grandview, there is very little left to do.
Going through the park, we saw 11 bears including one small cub. Also saw two moose and a number of deer. I thought the bears looked to be in normal condition, but the moose and deer looked kind of scruffy. I wonder if the deep snow last winter was hard on them. The bears were eating dandelions along the side of the road.
