My climate is different than yours, but my opinion is you will lose a lot more from not covering it than from no innoculant,especially if over a year. I haven't looked at plastic prices lately, but I think I could get it inoculated and covered for $1 a ton, give or take. A lot depends on the dimensions of your pile. Feeds not cheap, you don't have to save much to come out ahead.
