Central Western VA Mountains | I cut (grass hay with an impeller mower conditioner) usually late evening, let it lay the first full day and ted it that evening. Second full day, I do nothing. Third day, I ted and rake (in my case with a tedder rake combo that essentially stirs-up the hay and windrows the hay at the same time via a Vermeer TR90 which is a Lely 300 Combi), then bale. I get nice dry hay this way without loosing a lot of color. Otherwise, I would ted the second day late in the evening.
