Subject: Share cropping established alfalfa, compensate for seeding?

South Central Iowa
If a guy rented a field that had been seeded one or two years after establishment, and it's a share crop arrangement, does the tenant owe a little kick to the landlord for establishment cost? For instance, year two of a stand that should last 5-7 years. Does the tenant kick in a % to help cover the establishment cost? What's fair in a long term crop like that? The price of seed lime and fertilizer this year made me wonder while helping a neighbor seed a few acres down. Thanks.
