Ashburn, GA, (very close to Heaven!) | I average about 25 emails a day, usually about 10 to 20 of them are irrelevant. It takes me about 3 seconds a day to delete EVERY unwanted email I get. This is no big deal to me, at least at the current volume. > DO not subscribe to "spam blocker" service. All they do is block what you're getting so far, and send you a bunch more from new sources! > DO not "click on the red spider" to win a free laptop! > Set up a hotmail or gmail account to use exclusively for filling in at sites that require email, or shopping sites, and check it only frequently enough to keep it active. It's going get a lot of spam and junk mail. THEN use your "main" email very selectively, but as your "main" email. > Remember, trashing junk email is easier than trashing junk postal mail. > I believe that Internet Explorer, Outlook, AOL, and MSN users, for example, or some combination, get more junk than those of us who rely on some smaller ISP's, Mozilla, or Netscape (my preference) |
