Subject: ester or PAG oil

Farmland, IN
I have an older tractor with a York A/C compressor that needs charged. It developed a leak in the condensor, which has been fixed, and is now ready to go back together. The tractor has been converted to 134a at some point, and worked great until the leak developed. My question is how do I know if the system has ester or pag oil in it? Which oil should I ad to the system since I don't know, or should I just flush the system and start over, although some say flushing can cause a retrofitted system to leak worse. TIA, TA.
