Northeast Arkansas | Last summer we lost a PTO shaft. One day while checking the power units on the irragation wells, I noticed one of our John Deere power units was leaning quite a bit. Drove down there to see that the front of the unit had sunken it the gumbo mud and the shaft thrown off. The bolt where jammed into the power unit and 1 universul joint was still attached. We assumed it was slung in to the tall soybeans. Come harvest time, we found the PTO jammed in the Case IH 2188 combine. It broke the teeth off the head and on the header reel. Then it came throw the throat and into the concave and out the side of it ond took off the side sheld. A week later that same combine had the air conditioning to quit. I am sure it was a 110F degrees in there. | |
