Northeast Louisiana | Maybe I've just been lucky, but I don't change much on my 2388 for cutting wheat. Mine's a rice combine with AFX style rotor front, full rice spikes, large wire concaves, keystock grates with disrupters, and large sized seives, seemingly the worst possible setup for wheat. I usually run the vanes in the fast position, and start by setting the rotor and concaves pretty much by the book, and adjust as field conditions require. I don't seem to have problems with threshing or losing much grain, so I haven't bothered to do anything else. I usually only have a few hundred acres of wheat, so it's not my primary crop. | |
