NEWTON, IL (SE IL.)
Here's what we use:

SPEED SENSOR CALIBRATION FOR RAVEN MONITORS

1. You will need to measure a distance, or use a known distance. For best results this needs to be very accurate. (With-in a foot). If you are measuring a distance, I recommend at least 300 feet. We'll call this the “MEASURED COURSE”

2. Enter ”1000” in the SPEED CAL on the Raven.

3. At the beginning of the MEASURED COURSE, zero out DISTANCE on the Raven.

4. Drive the MEASURED COURSE at a reasonable speed.

5. Note the number now in DISTANCE at the end of the course.

6. Multiply the number in SPEED CAL (1000) x the distance of the MEASURED COURSE, divided by the number in DISTANCE.

7. This is the new SPEED CAL number. Enter this number in SPEED CAL.

EXAMPLE

The measured course is 500 feet, 1000 is entered in SPEED CAL and DISTANCE measured is 617.

500 - length of measured course
X 1000 - number entered into SPEED CAL
= 500,000

500,000 - answer to above calculation
divide by 617 - the number counted up in DISTANCE after driving the measured course
= 810.37 - This is the new SPEED CAL number

Use 810 for the new SPEED CAL number.

This works with any radar, or magnetic pickup sensor.
