Subject: Need Low Tech Solution for Back Breaking Job

Pennsylvania
I need to thin out my sweet corn patches. My old 71 JD planter gave me lots of two and three seed drops, never had the problem before using the same plates and seed size.
All the bending to thin out the corn is giving my 61 year old back fits. I've tried a highway trash pickerupper but it doesn't have enough gripping power to pull the corn out. Anybody have suggestions on how I might pull the corn out without so much bending?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
