| It is a 6 volt. The two stacked levers are the pinion and the clutch. Engage the pinion first, then engage the clutch. The engine will start decompressed. After it has ben properly lubricated, pull back on the throttle, the flip compression back to run. If it fires and dies, de-clutch and re-engage pinion, let it warm up more (spin the main engine), then apply fuel again. If the main engine is tired, you may need to start on full compression (after getting it rolling decompressed).
A side note: Treat a hand clutch just like a foot clutch. Only disengage it when you are taking an action. Never let the tractor set with the clutch disengaged. Never operate the tractor without your hand on the clutch when in brush. I was nearly killed 20 years ago when a limb pushed me out of the seat because I didn't have my hand on the lever. Luckily I was able to kick it out as I was being harpooned against the back of the brush cab. | |
