Subject: RE: New Holland grain head

what would you update to? just a newer used 973? the new heads won't fit the TR feeder house without extensive sheet metal arranagement not too mention the hook ups.

i rebuilt my 973 over the course of 2 years..........first year was a new sickle & guards, new all new reel tines & bushings, then the next was a new auger, new slides with new poly. it's 30ft so that was not a cheap investment when compared to what the header is actually worth.

during that time though i was trying to buy a HoneyBee draper but couldn't get it done. there are tons of them in Canada that are used for sale as i guess the 30ft's are outdated nowadays up there? that and the CR feeder change i guess?

if your ground allows though, i would seriously consider a Draper before spending the money to rebuild the 973. vi
