Central MN | "New to us" Steiger (Panther III). Need some finer points on how to properly use the clutch pedal (Boy does that sentence make us sound like an amateur !).
Anyway, according to the book and previous owner etc, depressing the clutch pedal all the way actuates the clutch brake. Depressing this all the way at the improper time can harm the brake. So when is it safe to depress the clutch "All the way" and actuate the clutch brake?
1. When at a full stop and "IN" gear?
2. When at a full stop and "OUT" of gear?
3. When rolling and "IN" Gear?
4. When rolling and "Out" of Gear?
The book states: "Only after the transmission is in nuetral should the clutch pedal be fully depressed to actuate the clutch brake and shift to the gear desired". If you shift to a gear wont you be in gear again and therefore should not have clutch brake actuated?
Any pointers are appeciated. | |
