Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
I would think you could easily go 15,000, especially since you're usually on the interstate. I always change the farm trucks at 5,000 and they are stop and go, field speed, dirt breathers. We've NEVER had a chevy vortec engine failure, and some have over 300,000. My wife's suburban tells you when its time to change the oil. (based on engine revs, speed, and temp) Last time it told me to change at over 9,000 miles, and it figures for conventional oil. So yes I'm certain you can go 15K on good quality synthetic. I can't believe some people change at 3K. There's a lot of good oil changed in this country.
