Yes . I had a short piece left over from another project. I thought it would be a challenge to machine the pulley out of Chrome-moly and try to avoid work hardening while cutting the grove. I kept the RPMs down nice and low and the feed always going. It worked out well. I avoided having to broach a keyway by pressing the piece on to what was left of the original pulley.
