Subject: Re: JD 8300 HYDRAULIC SCV'S

Mid-East Nebraska
Bleed valve failed in coupler.
Internal piston o-ring or seal has failed in coupler.
Teflon glide ring or energizing o-ring internal of SCV coupler housing failed. (Glide ring is located beneath coupler collar and energizing o-ring is located in SCV housing.)
Load check valve failed.
Load check cartridge failed.
Load check cartridge over torqued causing piston inside of load check cartridge to stick.

To determine if SCV coupler is leaking remove left hand sump line from fitting on bottom left hand side of SCV stack. Monitor oil leaking out of sump line fitting with any SCV in neutral, extend, or retract positions. There should be less than 8 oz. of oil leaking out of fitting in one minute of operation. If leakage is above this specification the SCV coupler is causing leak. Refer to "Problems" listed above as possible failure modes for SCV coupler.
