Subject: RE: great plains planter

We are on our 2nd year with a 12 row. It is not a twin row. It is working great for us, the main reason we selected this planter is because we could put the black seed boxes directly on the planter. We have a fork lift on a three point for that job. It is a 21st century planter with all the bells and whistles so be ready for a new learning curve if you are still using an older planter.

It is a monster to store and it pulls harder than our previous Kinze 12 row.

We put Martin fertilizer disks on it and went through a lot of bearings on them last year, this year we are running them more shallow, perhaps too shallow and so far two of the openers have lost their bearings. We are also trying some Sunco fertilizer disks and so far they seem good.

If the Great Plains fits your program, I would highly recomend it.
