| The water did not have enough resistance to trip the breaker or blow the fuse, hence the GFI was invented. The leakage current is detected and the circuit is opened..Leakage current caused by moisture will kill you..but not trip the protective devices. The pressure switch on the pump crapped out because the water caused immediate oxidation of the contacts and a failure to complete the circuit upon closure.. | |
