Subject: RE: school lunches

They also have great lunches at my daughter's school. I am lucky to be able to share a lunch with her a few times a year. the thing that appalls me is the HUGE amount of food wasted every day. The trash cans are piled high with uneaten food. Some kids hadn't even touched their trays during the whole lunch period. But they have to take it. I don't know how to make the kids eat, but at least we should be scaling back the lunches to a more manageable level for kids to eat. Is it any wonder there are so many overweight kids if they are taught that this is a "normal" lunch?

BTW, it is $1.25 for a lunch like this at my daughter's school! And they can get breakfast for another $1.25.
