Don't get the cheap rat bait,get the stuff they only have to eat once.Then get two different brands and hit them with both. The way it was explained to me was that some mice/rats won't like the taste ofone or the other so this way you get most of them. Thats why if you don't change brands they seem to get immune to it since a large part of the population left won't eat it. I did this at my place 2 years ago when it was almost overun and after a couple weeks I didn't see a live mouse or rat anywhere for 8 months, Not by the bins or in any shed I was impressed. I swapped half a bucket with a friend so I didn't have to buy two buckets.
