Winkler, Manitoba Canada | If you have the pump off check to see if there is a drain hole back to the engine sump and that it is open. Another thing that might have an effect is the hydraulic suction line filter. If it is quite restricted the hydraulic pump might somehow pull oil that would normally drain to sump into the hydraulic system. Fishin' for an explanation to your problem. Same idea might apply to the steering pump. Normally you would think hydraulic system pressure would be higher than engine oil pressure and the oil would travel the other way.
