NE S.Dakota

however some are better than others. I got the call from Dad, the haybine went off the edge of the bridge. I scrambled from my sprayer to the bridge, a mile away, of course thoughts racing through my head. When I got there with the tractor, loader and chains, it was balanced precariously over the edge. Not able to get out far enough to hook a chain, without pushing it over the edge even further, we tried to drag it back,it was not budging, and then a chain broke, and over it went. I was in the tractor watching helplessly as it slid into the creek.

I see a small hole in hose allowed the haybine to swing when it should not have, there is little room on this old bridge for error.

Had to call in for help, which arrived promptly.

Lift went well, tires back on solid ground.

For a video chronicle of this incident.

No one was hurt, and from preliminary inspection,no serious damage to machinery. I just put it new sickles minutes before this mishap.

Looks like I need to replace some hoses. And thank my lucky stars.

Bob
