Galahad, Alberta | Some models used a peugoet (sp?) motor in them, which were ok, but the timing belt SHOULD be changed at about 1200 hrs, or they get stretched and jump, which leads to motor issues. Other models came with a little Volkswagon diesel, but I think they were a bit underpowered. In the newer models they have gone to a Perkins Diesel, with has lots of power. I splurged last spring and bought a new 4655, and put in autosteer. I love that thing! Spraying used to be my most hated job, but now it's one of my favourites. A nurse truck with a big water tank and chemical handler, and you can get a lot done in a day on 40 gallons of diesel. And try to buy a 4 wheeler if you can find a nice one. The tricycles are tougher to wrestle all day long, with the single wheel if you hit a rut at a shallow angle, the wheel will want to follow the rut and the turning force comes back up the steering linkage and will almost tear your arms off. Automatic tranny's were an option in some models, and they are ok, but not in big hills. Manual tranny in mine is a 5 speed, same one they use in Ford Mustangs. Pretty solid.
