| my guess is your linkage on the clutch over centered?? give it a tug and see if it opens up and then if you can re-overcenter it.

I inspected and cleaned the assembly on both side and the gears continue to stay engaged on the left side (by the acreage counter). The squarish metal plate (clutch?) does not pull back far enough on the rod to push the gears apart. Is this what you are referring to in your reply? I am not sure I have enough strength to pull the rod by hand or even with a pair of vice grips. I still cannot budge my seeding amount selectors.
