The small hose is a case drain for the motor and needs to be returned to the sump on the tractor, no back pressure. I am sure Deere provided you with several sets of those with your planter to fit your tractor at no cost to you. I have never, since 1994 on vacuum planters run the motors back anywhere else but into the remotes, and never had a problem. I am assuming your two are plumbed into one set of hoses.
