This is another example of the benefits of studying the operator's manual. If you look in your manual, there is a setting on the side to side attenuator whereby you can move the seat to one of three positions. I believe you can center the seat by moving the seat to the right end of the adjustment. It is normally offset 2 inches I think.

John Deere seats are also offset, and I think they have been this way since the days of the 4020. I don't know why they do this and have always considered it odd. There may be a reason they do it, but it is not obvious to me what the advantage would be.
