We've had 3 R Models over the last several years...a;'79, '85, and '89...all still running as far as I know. We're down to one now (the '85 with a 350), sold the others and bought newer trucks for the road, but i still like the R's for the farm.
I think the '79 had some plastic dash parts, but nothing on the doors but the metal. That old 237 and 5 speed was slow but steady. The '85 and '89 both had upholstery on the doors, and even AC!
