I agree w/you 100%. JD dealers here put stuff on FP before you even pick it up. If you have a contention w/service (hrs, parts, warranty?), then it will have to be taken back OFF FP. But, in the meantime if a billing cycle comes around, you pay the balance or you'll wish you had.

We've discussed it 100 times w/our friends @ dealers. Doesn't do any good. Good people, good service, I just wish FP was structured some other way.

But, in the same token, CNH Credit is no better....maybe worse. I'm not sure how this happens, but they often have sales giving "interest free till......" on stuff like bulk oil. It'll appear on the bill, but you're not supposed to pay it. But then all of a sudden, it appears w/a late charge. I must be missing something.

If some of you still have the ability to direct bill w/your dealer...cherish it. It was nice when we had it. Before FP, we even prepaid parts accounts "in-season". Dealer would offer discounts on many parts for that privilege. No more.
