When the grain handling will move a semi load in under 10 minutes, I'm not sure i understand the reason for a big pit. Unless you are going to have trucks lined up waiting to pull onto the pit, it's not ever going to run very long anyway. The advantage of the pit is to keep grain moving for the minute or so that the truck is switching hopper and (in the event of multiple trucks) while one truck pulls off and the next pulls on. As long as you can unload them as fast as they can process through the scale twice and check moisture, the dump is not a limiting factor.
