Subject: RE: when to core grain bins?

Southeastern Kansas
Cored one of our 24M bins yesterday that had been sitting full for almost a month. Been running a fan when ever a cool front comes through and air felt cool. Cannot use a spreader because it will not keep up with a 13" auger so we dump in the middle. Started the unloading auger and all is well for a few seconds then this wet corn comes out with lots of weed seeds etc. That got me relly concerned as the corn was warm. Few minutes later cool corn shows up and no weed seed. Wheeeeew!!!!! Weed seed must have been green and caused heating, I hate not useing a spreader but gotta live with what we got . Coreing that bin saved lots of problems down the road.
