WE core all of our larger bins because we like to break up the layering of different qualities and moistures. Seems to help if you get grain directed downward before you close them up for several weeks. Usually we put the cored grain back in the top where it came from. Seems like there are more problems with bins that are not cored than those that are but it probably changes from one year to the next.
